The Storm

We've had rainy weather for the last 3 or 4 days, along with some violent storms. This is our Ash tree that didn't fare so well in an early morning storm on Sunday.
The broken tree branch has now been removed and this morning as I looked out my back door, you could hardly even notice that it's gone. The hammock will just get a little more sunshine, until other branches & leaves fill in the hole.

I've noticed in the pictures that the tree looks rather sparse...that's only because it was drooping from all the rain we got this weekend...3 inches. Today the sun is shining brightly and the tree looks happy.

In other news: Jimmy has a doctors appointment today with his urologist. It's his regular 3-6 month appointment, which he has had for the last 12 years. So far, so good. Jimmy had bladder and prostate cancer 12 years ago, which resulted in his bladder & prostate having to be removed. He has done very well except for an occasional UTI...and kidney stones.

That's about all the news that I have for right now...
You all have a wonderful day!

I love ash trees. I had to cut my green ash down two years ago because of crotch rot. It was more than fifty years ols and beautiful. I was kind of sad, but I live in the land of hurricanes and it is a really bad idea to have a weak tree near the house.

Nice to hear that Jimmy is doing fine after the prostate thing. You are lucky to have hime.

So glad to hear that Jimmy's checkup went well. I wish I had known that he was a cancer survivor as I'm always happy to light a luminara during the Relay for Life. I think it helps give so much hope to those still fighting!!

my kids did say that their area of Ky is getting more than it's fair share of rain...we have cool weather but are in need of some rain...which reminds me...instead of blogging I need to get out to the patio and water my plants!

After our last big storm, we had quite a few trees down in the neighbourhood...some were completely uprooted and Ross' son had a tree fall right on his house trailer:-( Hope Jimmy's appointment went well:-)

Gary...this ash tree is almost 25 years old and I love it because it's where my hammock hangs under...I'm glad the whole tree didn't get uprooted.
Crotch Rot???
I hope ours doesn't get this.

Tammy...It still hasn't cooled down too much here...that's why we keep having the daily thunderstorms.

Pea...Jimmy's appointment went well and he is to return in 6 months unless something comes up...that's always a good sign.
I saw your post about the destruction you found from a storm when you returned from a trip. It looked really bad and I hope Ross's son has gotten his trailer fixed by now.

Sue...I'll try to remind you next year to light two more luminaras.

Hi Sandy ~~ Sorry the storm took a branch off your Ash tree. But very glad that Jimmy got a good report. That is great not having to go back for 6 months
That is a lovely Greeting for your granddaughter, who looks so lovely.
Thanks for your comments, I liked the computer support team ones, so funny.

Glad your tree is still able to accomodate the hammock :) We had a couple of branches break off our cut-leaf maple at the beginning of last winter when we had a heavy wet snowfall. We came home from work to branches across the driveway.
That's wonderful news about Jimmy's checkup. What an awful thing to have been through. Having you by his side undoubtably helped him to be a survivor! God bless you both.
