Pictured is my son, Brian...his wife, Reva...and my grandson, we toured the Badlands of South Dakota. Brian is standing on the edge of a cliff with a very steep drop behind him. The sun was scorching hot that day and I suspect it is, much of the time because the steep, craggy hills are bare boned with nothing growing on them.....not a tree or a blade of grass....It is an amazing site to see. Another reason there may not be anything growing there is because of the force of the wind, causing much erosion. The wind gusts were so forceful, that it was sometimes hard to keep the motorcycles in an upright position.

The only creatures that we spotted there were prairie dogs, in the flat areas scurring about, in and out of their burrows. They were very cute and curious little creatures....and I suspect that they were curious about seeing us too, as they scampered about.

You are so lucky to have had such neat travels. I am a big fan of prarie dogs...saw them for the first time when I went out to the rockies for our honeymoon. We just have squirrels and the occasional chipmunk around here.
You have a lovely family!
