My Computer Room

I didn't have any idea of what to post today and spent most of the morning just blog surfing and reading. I stopped over at "Pieces From My Scrapbag" and Finn had posted pictures of her lovely home...So I decided to post pictures of my computer room, where all of my blogging takes place.

This is my husband, Jimmy...but I am usually sitting in that chair, which is covered by a towel, in order to keep the cat hair off. Our cat, Jybow, is in her usual position...And to Jimmy's left is a full wall of family pictures and my sewing machine.

This day-bed is to the right of my computer and Daisy is also in her usual spot...she loves that moose, which her head is resting on.

This is a better picture of the hand-sewn quilt that is on my day-bed. It was made by my mother-in-law when she was about 84 years old. She sewed all the little diamonds by hand and then sent it out to be finished. I don't know if this pattern has a name...so perhaps one of you quilters might know. All I know is that it's an 8 pointed star.

Ah, now I can imagine you more clearly, sitting there blog-surfing!

I can tell from all the photos on the wall how devoted you are to your family.

Thanks for showing us your cosy corner!

Jimmy, red queen on the black king. Now I know what you are doing all day when Sandy is off running errands and cleaning/cooking. teehee Now all we have to do is move the cat off the mouse and get you to start blogging, right Sandy?

Love the Quilt and what a sentimental piece. I love homemade quilts from loved ones. We have one from Scott's grandmother and The kids greatgrandmother with an inscription on it to them.

Hi Sandy, what a great idea, now we can think of you sitting there doing the creative editing of Cucoo's new movie roles..*VBS*

I think we all love seeing into each other "spaces". I know it delights me to see someones sitting room or family room, or even how you decorate the kitchen or deck...*VBG*
Love seeing the quilt too, what a beautiful job she did, especially for her age!! I think it might be a Lone Star, but there are many star quilts.
The nice thing with blogs is that they are ours..just ours personally(excetp Mama Bear, of course, who shares with the rest of the Bears) and we can post or write about whatever jerks our bobbers, as the fishermen say.
I seen steaming mugs of tea or coffee or hot chocolate, to neat colored glass, to scenery, antiques, loaves of fresh bread, flowers, to fur baby friends, oh my, the list is endless.
So hurray for for sharing your lovely family wall, and the DH being kept company by the DFB's. Hugs, Finn who does have shrubs under all the windows..*VBS*

Beautiful quilt, I have one from my grandmother that I am working to finish quilting, I was told it was a Lone Star (of Texas?).

The husband looks studious. The quilts are pretty... but what I really want to know... is it Pasadena, TEXAS or Pasadena, CALIFORNIA? ~

Beautiful quilt. That room looks familiar. *VBS* Seems like I was just there today.

Jybow seems content on the computer desk with Jimmy. And I wanted to ask Jimmy, did you win that game?

Enjoyed the post.

Thanks for the nice comments over at our place.

I love to see where other people do their creative writing, mine is always a bit messy.....the quilt is beautiful....my husbands (his name was also Jimmy) grandmas both made quilts...his grandma T made one for each of my kids....the trouble is they are made out of polyester, just squares, and lined with a sheet, a pretty sheet.....but they weigh a ton.......thanks for sharing Sandy. And nice to meet Jimmy.....

I was thinking of the same thing this morning - taking a picture of my computer but I have papers piled up would have had to straighten things out so I passed on that one. From your comments I guess bloggers like to see where other bloggers blog from.
Love the quilt. What a wonderful hierloom to have.
My Moocher used to want to lay down on my key board when I was typing. He was here for breakfast today but didn't want to stay in.

I post in the living room in front of Nascar, Democracy Now, March Madness, C-Span and the Rolling Stones. I am not as neat as Sandy but I was when we grew up. Gil's (Life at the Ranch) mom (our step mom) was a taskmaster and we picked up those good habits from her.

You're in Madison County? I'm just south of you, in Corbin!

Love that quilt.

Family heirloom quilts are as presciious as anything. I have a couple that are a bit raggedy, but I will not get rid of them... I have had them since I was a young girl. They were made by my grandmother from scraps of of material she used in making clothing that my mother and aunt wore.

Absolutely LOVE the cat picture!
