Summer Flowers

Today I've been thinking of Springtime and the Summer flowers that grow in my garden. I try to plant flowers that come back each year on their own and require little maintenance, other than talking to them and telling them how pretty they look. I'm not good at names...if they're pretty...and they promise to come back...I'll plant them.

This is a climatis and I have several, in different colors...and some even have stripes.

These are wild daisies and they are my favorite flower...I don't know the name of the purple flowers, but they look great next to the daisies. I think some little bird carried the seeds there, because I didn't plant the purple flowers...one day they just started growing there...they might be a weed...but they're pretty...so they can stay.

These water lillies are the easiest to take care of. They require absolutely no maintenance whatsoever...and help keep the fish pond water clear along with the other water plants.

This one poppy comes up faithfully every year and has only two blooms and then it begins to die, until next year.

I love all these flowers, but the water lilies photo is STUNNING! The poppy is gorgeous, too. Thanks Sandy for such cheery, pretty pictures.

I love your flowers. You take good pictures. I have been thinking of spring too. I love flowers and where I used to live I had lots of flowers. That was Papa Bear and I liked to do in our spare time, plant flowers and raise a garden. Flowers just seem to cheer you up. Where we live now it is shady and I am used to sunny... so I have a hard time growing flowers and still need to learn about all the different shade flowers to grow because I would love to plant a lot of them! Any suggestions? Anyway, I love your flowers. This is a nice way to start a day looking at your flowers.

Pretty, Pretty! Wish a had a green thumb, not sure what mine is, but it "don't grow nothin'!" This was perfect for today, "spring has sprung, the grass has riz..." I'll hush now...

Such beautiful photographs, it makes me want to go out and take some pictures!

Sue...there is also a yellow water lillie but it wasn't blooming at the time of the picture. One thing I like about the water lillies is once they start blooming they continue to bloom til frost kills them.

Tuffenuf...you are so lucky to be able to go out NOW and take photos. We are still in the dead looking mode...but things are looking up.

your daughter, june???
What's the matter don't you like your name anymore? You change names like you change clothes LOL. Thanks for the nice comment anyway and I see nothing wrong with your photos. Like Motherkitty told me it's all in the lighting...and take lots of pictures of the same thing, so you have a good one to choose from.

I agree with all of you that flowers boost the spirit and make you feel good...that's why I posted them, because I needed to look at something beautiful today.

Mama Bear...I'm sure there are pretty flowers that will grow in the shade and maybe someone will step up and give you some names. Another thing that we can do is go to a garden center and look over their shade plants and see what we can get. We'll have to do that soon so the plants will bloom this year.

Jellyhead...the water lillies are a stunning looking flower and I don't think you could get a bad looking photo of them no matter how hard you tried. They come in so many different colors, but my pool is so small that I only have 2 different colors.

Tanya...I've been waiting to use that poppy picture for some time. It's one of my favorite pictures too.

Andi...I'm sure you can grow something if I can...I too don't have a green thumb. Do what I do and plant flowers that are native to this area and ones that will come up maintenance free...and the flowers will do the work themselves. I tend to plant flowers too close to each other, but then they crowd out the weeds...makes less work for me.

Glad everyone was in the mood to look at pretty flowers this morning...It makes it nice sharing my pictures. Now, who can direct me to a good joke and my day will be complete?

Lovely flowers. I LOVE flowers!! Here's your joke!

Saving Her Butt

A man decided to paint the toilet while his wife was away. His wife came home sooner than he expected, used the toilet, and got the seat stuck to her rear. She was understandably distraught about this and asked her husband to drive her to the doctor. She put a large overcoat on to cover the seat before they went.
When they got to the doctor's office, the man lifted his wife's coat to show him their predicament. The man asked, "Doctor, have you ever seen anything like this before?"

"Well, yes," the doctor replied, "but never framed.

I love flowers. It looks like a beautiful spring day outside right now, yet there are tornado warnings for some of the surrounding counties.
I like your picture of the climatis the best.

Rachel...thanks for that funny joke. LOL

bornfool...We're also having a beautiful sunny day and not too cold either...sweatshirt weather at the moment.

Andi...thanks for the joke, but you should have posted it for all to see...I accidently deleted it because I thought it was one of the comments. Sorry.

Really beautiful flowers Sandy, *VBS* I espcially like the water lily and the poppy. You take great pictures..Thanks, Hugs, Finn

Thanks Finn...Motherkitty gave me pointers on taking pictures.

And here is the rest of Andi's comment. Andi said she had a brain bloop:
"Spring has sprung
The grass has riz
I wonder where
The birdies is?"

That's cute Andi.

Andi...I found the funny that you sent...I didn't delete it after all...I just had AAADD (Age Activated Attention Deficit Disorder) I got that from Judypatooote.

Here's Andi's Funny for today:
Games for when we are older.

Sag, you're it.

Hide and go pee.

20 questions shouted into your good ear.

Kick the bucket.

Red rover, red rover, the nurse says bend over.

Musical recliners.

Simon says something incoherent.

Pin the toupee on the bald guy.

Old is when:
1. Going braless pulls all the wrinkles out of your face.

2. Gettin a little action means no fiber today.

3. An all-nighter means not getting up to pee!

4. You used to skinny dip, now you chunky dunk!

Thanks Andi!!

Beautiful flowers. Looks like you follow what I used to do when I had a garden - if it doesn't grow don't plant it anymore.
