The day after

Yesterday was such a wonderful day…and I was caught “cameraless.”
I was so busy visiting and having fun that I failed to take any pictures…but those of you who are mothers can understand that…We just get so caught up in our own day…the day that was created to celebrate us mothers.

Over at Herons Nest, a few days ago I was reading about the different Mother’s Day traditions around the world and one caught my eye. It was from Yugoslavia.

Yugoslavia : Mother’s Day is observed in December. The children sneak into their mother’s bedroom and tie her up in bed. When she awakes she promises to give the children gifts that she has hidden, in order to be untied.

Of course I didn’t post this before Mother’s Day, because I really do enjoy the flowers that the children bring ME. They know that I love to plant flowers in my yard, so every year at this time, I receive flowers to plant. I also received a beautiful hanging basket of flowers for my front porch, that requires nothing of me, but frequent watering.

So, to all you mothers out there….I hope your day was as wonderfully spent as my day was spent.

So happy to hear you had a wonderful Mother's Day Sandy! Getting flowers you can plant is the "best"...I love it too! Last years I got window boxes that hang over the railing on my small patio.

Happy Mother's Day darling!

Oh, and if I got tied to the bed, I would not let them untie me and I certainly wouldnt tell them where the gifts were. Tied up, I could get some sleep and not have to do any chores!

(Sorry i've been away...missed ya'll)

glad you had a nice Mother's Day. I also recieved flowers but have to take another picture of them the one didn't turn out too good. My sister also forgot to take pictures at her in laws after leaving the camera out so she wouldn't forget.

Note to self: do not move to Yugoslavia.

The flowers you received are a great idea. Not only will you be able to enjoy them on Mother's Day, but all season long. I'm glad you had such a great day :)
