I think something is wrong with spell checker

For all of you who can't spell and rely on spell checker to catch your mistakes...you'd better get out that old, dusty dictionary....because I want you to look at this

and....

Run THIS through your spell checker!

Eye halve a spelling checker,
It came with my pea sea.
It plainly marks four my revue
Miss steaks eye kin knot sea.

Eye strike a key and type a word
And weight four it two say,
Weather eye am wrong oar write,
It shows me strait a weigh.

As soon as a mist ache is maid
It nose bee fore two long,
And eye can put the error rite
It's rare lea ever wrong.

Eye have run this poem threw it,
I am shore your pleased two no,
It's letter perfect awl the weigh,
My checker tolled me sew.

(Author Unknown)

Isn't this neat...I wonder who comes up with these things? But, like me, you probably already know that spell checker can't tell the difference between their or there and here or hear...and a whole lot of other words. According to spell checker...as long as the word appears in its dictionary and is spelled correctly...then it's okay and not flagged.

I have seen this before, isn't it wonderful? I have read affidavits written by witnesses that sadly read that way!

That's neat! And we rely on spell checkers! ;)

This is so cute, thanks for sharing. I type for a living - medical transcriptionist - and even have a medical spellchecker. But it is ultimately up to us humans to make sure it is right! Great poem!

Thanks, Sandy, for making our day. Very cute. Fortunately, I am a pretty good speller and never rely on SpellCheck for anything. Give me a good old dictionary any day of the week. (The only thing I have a problem with is Word Verification!)

I also try to not rely too much of spell check. It can be annoying, especially on proper names.
