Dr. Charles, here are my tomatoes...
As you requested Dr. Charles here are my tomatoes...Pretty soon the grass will overtake them and they will be harder to photograph, so feast your eyes on these lovely green gems now while you can still see them. *S*
Yum, Yum !!!! I agree with Tammy about picking some now and coating them and frying them. I can't wait for ours to come on! That is all we planted in our little garden. I am waiting for a BLT, cottage cheese and tomatoes, and the list goes on. We will be eating tomatoes everyday, I HOPE.
Really healthy looking plants and fruit - we are already picking ripe ones down here in South Carolina. Lived in Kentucky for about 6 months back in 1962-63, just before we got married. ec
I didn't plant tomatoes this year, but last week I found a 2 foot high tomato plant growing right in the middle of one of my flower beds. I'm not sure how it got there.
Nothing like home grown anything, but especially tomatoes!
Thanks for your comment. Maybe I have not made myself clear, it is not that I WANT to work the rest of my life, but I will really have to. So, coming to peace with it and stopping the lusting for a lifestyle I cannot have has been a relief.
I am so happy for you that you have been able to be free to travel and garden and all. I know you put in your years and you deserve it. Keep enjoying it and remember me when you eat that first 'mater!
This is the first year l have not grown any tomatoes- so much going on. l love the smell and taste of fresh toms. Your toms look great and you still have flowers coming on- great! I love to grow my toms high and sometimes plant them in hanging baskets to grow down- easier to pick and keep away from the ground bugs. Lovely.:) Glad you enjoyed the limo ride.
We always grow tomatoes in our veggie garden and they're just starting to bloom now so we won't be getting tomatoes for a little bit yet. There's nothing like your own fresh grown tomatoes...the store bought ones are yucky! lol
Home grown tomatoes are my favorite. Mom and Dad used to find me in the garden when I was little eating tomatoes until my mouth got raw. ha ha. This year I am trying to make friends with people growing tomatoes. ha ha . Will you be my friend? blink blink blink
Such lovely tomatoes! Yes, the store-bought ones are insipid and tasteless compared to homegrown. Ours are nowhere near ready. With all this rain we didn't get them in 'til late. We can't plant them until late here in NY anyway. We've had hard frosts as late as June 23rd....that late is unusual, but it has happened in the past. I hope they won't drown. We had rain again this morning and a nasty thunderstorm with very heavy rain yesterday afternoon. I LOVE fresh picked tomatoes!

Hey, let's pick a few right now and fry them up in an iron skillet with lots of grease!!!
Yummy!!!
:-D
Have you been able to pick any yet? Mine are still green. I think this year is later than most (maybe because of all the rain earlier?)

Yours looks great.
What Tammy said. Fried green tomatoes.
Yum.
Mine are that far along. I've had 6 or so but the rest are straglers.
I should have said "Not that far along".
THere's nothing better than garden-picked fresh tomatoes. Even the green ones can be fried.
Oh on your comment on my post: You are the only one who will see the "review" of your site. I think they all come out glowing.
They are looking good!! Ripe tomatoes are so yummy. I love the yellow ones the best I think.
Wow!! Impressive tomatoes :)

These remind me of Fried Green TOmatoes (food & movie)..and my grandfather, who raised us to appreciate a fine garden.
I miss eating tomatoes from the vine...

We've got some that look to be about the same size. Won't be long.
Yum, yum, YUM!!! I only hope my tomatoes look half as good as yours in a few weeks.
I'm back blogging - and glad for it :) Love your pictures - the hand sculptures are really impressive.
