Gosh Sandy, I am behind in my reading! Sorry to hear about Jimmy's eye. I hope all goes well on that. I'll be thinking about him.
Looking at those yummy tomatoes I couldn't help but notice that lovely cake beside them! That looks delicious!! I'd rather have the cake than the tomatoes I'm afraid. Sigh. :)
Cucoo loves to look at himself since he's so cute!! I think birds think it's another bird when they see their reflection.
You should tell Rachel about your "cake". Tortilla cake?
Too bad about Steve Irwin. He was doing what he loved best -- too bad he tangled with a manta ray. They said on CNN that there were only a few recorded cases of people being killed by rays. Feel sorry for his wife and two small children.
Our tomatoe plants look great. They are covered with flowers and have a few green tomatoes on them. Now all we need is some sun and warmth to ripen them up. This is the first year that I haven't had enough tomatoes to make sauce. Boo hoo

Enjoy your Labor Day. Say Hi to Jimmy!
Remember our little parakeets? If you let a bird look into a mirror they sometimes will fall in love with the image.
I know that Cucco will be heading south soon. He may already be on the way!
