Computer Cookies

No...these aren't the cookies that you're thinking of. These are what Jimmy has named the last two batches of cookies, that I've baked because, they came out of the oven slightly, shall we say...over-browned? I wouldn't go as far as to call them burned because Jimmy ate them all, almost single handedly. *LOL* Although he says he had help...huh. The cookies remained in the oven just a little too long because I've been busy on the computer, while trying to get my Christmas baking done and everything else relating to Christmas. My kids have another name for these cookies...they call them the "choking cookies" yeah they do. If you inhale while eating them , the powdered sugar coating gets sucked down into your lungs. Jimmy likes them without the sugar coating, so I don't put it on all the cookies. They're diet cookies that way and you can eat as many as you like. heheheBrian has given me a little job to do...He's made me his official photographer, ha ha. Besides getting ready for Christmas, I have been taking pictures of his bowls on roof tops and anywhere I can find a place to set them down. *LOL* I even layed down on the ground for a few shots that didn't work out so well. And of course, if you read my last post you saw that I have a cat following...and those of you that have cats know how curious they are about anything that you're doing outside.
Besides taking pictures and cataloging each bowl, I also get to woodburn his name on the back of each bowl along with the date, an assigned bowl number and the type of wood the bowl is made from. As you can see, I haven't shown you any pictures of my woodburning talents...because they're awful!!! But I'm improving with each bowl. hahaha. Brian hasn't seen the woodburning yet either...so I might be losing that job. Well for that matter, he hasn't seen these pictures either. *LOL*
So far I've only had 10 bowls to work with but he called me last night and said he was bringing me over another batch of bowls he's finished. I can't wait to see them, but I may have to wait until after Christmas to work with them...there's just too much that I need to do right now to get ready for Christmas. I also will not be on the computer very much until Christmas is over, so please forgive me if I don't visit as often during this holiday season, but I'll be back when I can to catch up on reading your blogs.

So how do you think I'm doing with these pictures? Do any of you have any suggestions on how I can improve, beside telling me to go hire a real professional photographer? I can use all the help I can get. Oh...and before I forget, my sweet brother Tomas is putting together a webpage called, Family Crafts and you can find it if you Click Here. It's just in the making right now and will have more later, as more family members submit their crafts.

I want to take this opportunity to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a very peaceful and joyous New Year.

Hi Sandy,

Beautiful bowls! You are doing a fine job. I was browsing in a store today and a wooden bowl, about 12 inches across was $50. A bigger one, about 14 inches maybe, was $75!

Is the Sandy on the craft page you? I saw the woodcarving. Did you do that?

Too bad about the cookies! I like soft cookies better. Usually when they first come out of the oven is when they are soft and the best with a nice glass of milk! Yum!!!

You're doing a fine job photographing the bowls Sandy. They're beautiful. Brian is very creative. I hope he sells lots of them. He's sure making up for lost time with that lathe!
It was nice of Jimmy to help you out by disposing of those overdone cookies. What a guy!
I baked today too...Pumpkin bread, Zucchini bread (both for gift giving) and shortbread....one of my favorite things.
Did the parcel arrive?

Just keep doing what you're doing with the bowls. They look great!

The bowls look great Sandy, if you use a fill light you could eliminate the shadows.

On the roof??? Keep doing that and you'll soon be meeting Santa up there! lol Sandy, I think you are doing a fabulous job taking pictures of Brian's work...the bowls are so beautiful and I love the way the woodgrain comes out! Wonderful!! I've also been having less time for visiting blogs and at first I felt so badly about that but there just aren't enough hours in the day right now! I'm leaving on Tuesday morning, coming back Thursday, then leaving again on Saturday until the day after Christmas!!! Merry Christmas dear Sandy to you and yours! xoxox

Your taking great pictures....and Brian does beautiful work....I too love the grain of the wood in the plates....

Yes this dear old computer can take your mind off of things that you are doing.....I keep forgetting to let my dog in.....I let him out, and go back to the computer and later when I go in for a cup of coffee, I see him shivering on the deck....poor baby....I have to improve on that, for my dogs sake....I have been making calenders with photos on the computer, but I haven't been back checking my favorites for a while.....but as soon as Christmas is over, and we have snow, I will be back to checking on my friends daily.....I hope you have a very merry Christmas Sandy....God Bless.....

Those are simply beautiful! What talent...

You've done an excellent job with the photos. Oh, and I'm sure the cookies were just lovely, overcooked or not.

Such lovely bowls. Brian has an artistic touch. Wish I could buy just one. Is he going to be selling them on ebay? And isn't it nice that you get to help. How does he start a bowl with just a peice of wood?

Tell him he is doing a bang up job with those bowels.
