While the master's away...the cat will take advantage

"I'll just sit here and be very still," says Oreo the cat.
"Come a little closer Frisky...I won't bite!"
"Smell my toes and look, I don't have big sharp claws."
"I just want to get to know you better, Frisky my good ole pal."

This afternoon while Reva & I took Snuggles, her injured cat to the vets office, this is what we came home to....Oreo the cat inside the aquarium with Brandon's Gerbil. Apparently they got to know each other last night when Frisky made his excape and spent the night outside his aquarium home with a house full of cats. Frisky didn't seem at all bothered by the presence of the cat in his home...it wasn't the first time that Oreo has been in there. Brian told us that he had come into the house and found Oreo inside the gerbil's home earlier in the day, and had removed him. I think Frisky needs a wire mesh top on his aquarium home...with a BIG rock on it.

Somehow, you got spammed, even with word verification.

Pretty lucky gerbil in my opinion.

So funny :) Amazing isn't it? Our youngest, Kathy, had a gerbil years ago which would escape occasionally and cause us to panic, but we always found it unharmed, with our 2 housecats (at the time) watching it intently.
Oreo and Frisky have an unusual friendship indeed :)
Jasmine has been up to some tricks lately too. Come and see when you get a minute..it involves a purple-haired bird :)
Do you know where Cucoo and friends have been? Perhaps you didn't even miss them?

Oreo and Friskie don't have the usual cat "rodent" relationship, do they? I was surprised that they got along so well...
:)

I think you are right about that. One gerbil may turn up missing soon if he doesn't get a cover and big rock on there!!

That is one lucky gerbil. They make covers for those tanks and a big rock would help. I think you got spammed too.

I can't believe that cat hasn't munched down that gerbil for a snack! Wow, how lucky to find a cat without the natural instinct to chase and kill rodents!

I'm glad they found him after all.
Good news that he was not someones christmas dinner!

Our late gerbil jumped to the floor a few weeks ago and within a minute the dog ate him. We now have two new guinea pigs and a hamster plus the mate of the eaten gerbil. The girls are rather serious about keeping the dog away while they have their rodents out.

What a lovely friendship! I am feeling a bit nervous for the gerbil though...
