I stole the cat's affection

Since taking some time off from the computer and from blogging, I’ve been reunited with my 3 indoor cats. They all want to be around me and want my constant attention. While blogging they usually tried to get in my way and would finally just settle down and lay in front of my monitor or on top of my copier and sometimes even tried to get my attention by walking across my keyboard…I’d give them a gentle pat on the head and continue blogging.

It all started with a painful leg right after Christmas that kept me pretty immobile for a few days. I paid a visit to a doctor and returned from that visit with a very friendly stomach virus…all the patients there didn’t seem to mind sharing, you know…Southerners will give you the shirts off their backs and their virus’ too, if you look like you need it. *LOL*

My leg is fine, the virus played itself out and I was left with a cough & congestion which has now left my body…So here I am, feeling good again and back to blogging. I want to thank all of you for your thoughtful & caring comments, wonderful emails and occasional phone calls…I can’t tell you enough how nice it is to be missed!!! And that is what I think the cats told me while I was sick…that they missed me too, while I was blogging. I’ll have to pay special attention to each of them and continue our bedtime rituals that we started while I was sick. Jimmy did get a little jealous at first, because his cat Jybow suddenly wanted to comfort me but, Jybow is now taking turns with each of us, since I am feeling well again. She’s a pretty smart kitty I think.

I’m not used to being sick and it seems that since I’ve turned 62 I’m having trouble out-running the germs and it’s taking me longer to recover. Another baffling thing about being sick is that Jimmy lost 15 pounds…and I found them. Now, how does that happen? I was the one sick!! And is that fair??? Okay, now it sounds like I’m feeling sorry for myself…time to change the subject…and go on a diet.

You can all thank Motherkitty & Tomas for today’s post. I wasn’t going to think about blogging until Monday, but Motherkitty gave the order. Thank you, Motherkitty. Somershade on the other hand didn’t think I could stop the blogging addiction and if it wasn’t for getting sick, I don’t think I could have either, because I love to blog and I love visiting all of your blogs. It will take me some time getting caught up, but I will.
Thank you for being so patient and waiting for my return.
You all are so sweet!

I tried to post a comment first, but blogger wouldn't let me.

Great that my prodding worked! Glad to have you back amongst the "living" bloggers and that you are feeling better.

Not good that Jimmie lost 15 and you gained 15. Time to get going on the diet and stay off the sweet stuff (I'm speaking to myself here and not necessarily to you or anyone else).

Yah, you're back! Three cheers for Motherkitty!
It's good that you've reconnected with the kitties. They're such a comfort when we're not feeling the greatest. Jasmine likes to sit on my lap when I'm at the computer too.
You need to give that 15 lbs back to Jimmy! :)

Hi Sandy, good to see you back on deck, you will need to draw a line in the sand and not go back beyond that point or you will never catch up.

So very glad you are well again. The kitties don't miss you as much as we did.
Are you washing your hands, cause I heard a rummor that if you didn't you could be more prone to cooties.

Glad you are back

Cats have already taken over the world. If you doubt that, just ask any of mine.

Glad you're feeling better and are back on track.
