wishing my life away

I'm sitting here this morning and wishing that all was green and beautiful outdoors. There has never been a winter here in Kentucky that I liked 100%. I love it when it snows deep enough to stay around for a few days and creates a little excitement. Everybody is a-buzz and comes out to sweep their walks & clear out their driveways and the kids are off school and are out sleigh riding and building snowmen. That's only when it snows.
The part I don't like about winters in Ky is that the trees and bushes are leaf-less, and it's something that never happened when I was at home in California. Although we didn't have noticeable seasons, since we didn't have them, I didn't miss them. But since moving here I do very much miss the leaves on the trees being gone all winter, something that never happened at home at anytime unless the tree was dead.
So dead is what it looks like outside today. Dead, gray and gloomy with a bit of frost on roof tops and covering the ground and I'm sitting here looking at the picture above wishing it was Spring again.

You and me both, Sandy! You must have the same view I have - absolutely no color, just dead looking gray tree trunks swaying in the cold wind. No promise in sight of warmth today! Maybe we will get a big snow for all of the kids to play in. Stay warm!

Hi Sandy,

It's a sunless day here too- gloomy and cold. (well, not real cold but enough!)

I think I would feel as you do if I lived where it snowed in winter! :) I'd want to see some snow and not just have the gray and gloomy days!

But - Spring WILL come around soon. We'll both be riding again before long! :)

Are you sure you are not in my neck of the woods...

I'm getting cabin fever myself!

Isn't it funny how we always hanker after what we don't have..... here it is stinking hot & very humid, so the sound of cold dry weather is so appealing!

Hope you have a better day today Sandy. The only good thing about missing one season is that it is always just around the corner!

Hugs,
Jelly

I hear ya....Snow is beautiful when it is falling, and it looks so sparkly and bright....and then....it turns dirty, yellow in spots....and just plain ugly.... I'm looking out in my backyard at that very picture and picture dead leaves that fell after the first snow....mixed in with the new snow....I never did get them all cleaned up.....and it is very depressing....but....we had sunshine today, that was nice...

I think I would miss the 4 seasons... I love spring, but fall is my favorite with all those beautiful orange and yellow leaves....I kind of like the bare trees....all those branches have character....all different....

Well i've rattled on long enough.. Hope you are well.....judy

Well, just hang on. It won't be long before spring will be here and you'll be heading down the road on your trike with Jimmy beside you on his motorcycle!!
