Christmas, Christmas time is here....

What else do you do when it's snowing out?

As the rain changed over to snow late Friday night all was quiet in the house with Jimmy reading a book and I playing on my computer & watching a movie....and YES, taking pictures too. I took some night time pictures of the snow falling, but my pictures looked like we were being
bombarded by meteorites instead of snowflakes.

As you can see, the cats had no interest in going out in the snow and just settled down for a long nap. This is Petey our baby.

All was restful, peaceful and quiet and this is Petey's momma, Princess Pinky.

In the morning this is what I saw. A beautiful blanket of snow.

This was the first picture I took just as soon as it was light enough outside to be able to see. You can still see that the night light way in the back is still on and some of the snowflakes sparkled in the glow of the camera's flash. I was up and outside in my nightgown and bare feet taking the first pictures...it wasn't that cold out or at least I didn't think so. After I took this picture I went back inside and put on an old pair of shoes and my big thick fluffy bathrobe and went back out to take the next picture (below).

We only got about 3 inches of snow as you can see on the table.

This is why I have to hurry and get outside to take some pictures.

Just as soon as Jimmy gets dressed he rushes out there to remove the snow off the tables and the walkways. He doesn't waste any time.
Most of this snow has melted despite snow falling on and off for most of the day. Tonight we have some patches of bare ground showing. Most of the heavy snowfall went to the east of us and we really were quite lucky not to have two feet of snow dumped on us all at once.

We also had a nice visit this afternoon with a group of Christmas Caroler's who stopped in to sing for us and bring us a nice Christmas basket filled with fresh fruit, candy canes, and cookies. Of course it felt awkward just to stand there and have them sing to us, so I joined in and we all sang to Jimmy.
The Caroler's were Glenn & Sandie and members of their church who also invited us to attend their Christmas Program which will be held this Sunday night at 6 pm at the Blue Lick Missionary Berea Baptist Church on Blue Lick Rd. in Berea.
Kyra, Dylan & Lillian will be in the play so it should be interesting. Kyra already told me that she was going to be an angel and fly around like a bird or a butterfly. Kyra is 3 years old and I can't wait to see her on stage. I'm sure she'll be all over that stage flapping her little tiny arms like wings. If she stands still I'll be very surprised. I love watching the kids in the Christmas plays...you just never know what's going to happen.

Hi Sandy, loved the post and pictures, snow is definitely better in pictures I think.
Hope you have a great Christmas (not that "holiday" rubbish)

The snow is so pretty but it sure didn't last long.

Looks like the cats have it made!

I hope you go to the play at church. I love watching those kids in their plays!

I am so bummed because all we got was 5 inches whereas Philadelphia got over 23 and they are some 60 miles south of us.

Such cozy pictures of Jimmy and the kitties :) Your blanket of snow looks so pretty. Glad you got out there before Jimmy!
What fun to have the carolers come and sing to you....and bearing goodies no less!
I too love seeing the little children in Christmas programs. I'll bet Kyra had a wonderful time :)
