Put me in jail now....

Didn't President Obama piss off the Supreme Court during his last State of the Union Speech? When all the law suits are filed and reach the Supreme Court for a decision on the legality of forcing people to purchase health insurance I hope they remember the spot they were put on by the president.

Fine me now and put me in jail, because I don't think it's legal to make me purchase a product that I don't want to purchase, and then fine me if I don't buy it. What's next? Is the government going to force me to buy only a certain make & model of car because they partially own the car company?

I have a question for Pelosi, Reid, Obama and any democrats that voted for the healthcare bill:
Since children may now remain on their parents insurance until they reach the age of 26, are children going to be allowed to remain on medicaid until they reach the age of 26 yrs. old when both parents are disabled and are currently on Medicare? I like this part of the healthcare bill but I was just wondering if there was a provision for children like these?

I think it's a downward path for our country Sandy. Obama might be shouting Victory, but there's a whole bunch of folks that sure aren't. This is just their first step I'm afraid on that downward path.

I agree with you. I, for one, don't like to be told what to do. This crap is just the tip of the iceberg. Grab your ticket, get some popcorn, pull up a seat, and watch this once great country go to hell in a handbasket. I think the 3 Stooges (Obama, Pelosi & Reid) should be locked away with no key available.

I disagree. If you want to drive then you get a licensee and then drive on the right side of the road.
The folks at the hospital will fix you up and the want money to do so The insurance companies have stepped between you and the hospital and said that you must pay or go somewhere else. The government stepped in and is now telling the insurance companies to straighten up or get out.
Nobody likes to be told to drive on the right side of the road including the insurance companies.

Yes if you want to drive Tom you get a license, but nobody is forcing you to get a license. You only get a license if you have a car and want to drive on the road. Not everyone has a drivers license or is fined for not having one. You don't however need a license if you are only driving on your farm, just like you don't need a fishing license if you are fishing on private property. There are many people who have never had a drivers license because they don't own a car and therefore also don't have auto insurance or are they forced to buy auto insurance. There's the difference, being forced by the government to make a purchase that you don't need.

Lots of people without insurance go to doctors, hospitals and are treated and pay their bills. I know several people who are uninsured who have managed to pay off large hospital bills without going bankrupt.

Obama just needs to check with hospitals and get a list of the dead beats who go to hospitals and never pay their bills. Those are the people he can offer insurance to if he wants but leave the rest of us alone. We don't need to be treated like second class citizens who don't know how to take care of ourselves. We don't need mandatory insurance that comes with a large fine forced on us.

The government isn't going to pay for your insurance or insurance for those who have a certain amount of income. People are still going to have to purchase insurance on their own or face the $2700 fine.

I think the government has forgotten who they work for and who pays their bills....WE THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES. I think it's time to show them who is their boss by firing a few of them.
