Yesterday I started the weaning off process. I'm weaning myself from my Blackberry. It's like carrying a tiny little computer with me at all times, keeping tract of everything that goes on in the world, at facebook, being able to read all my emails the instant they arrived and the texting....yes, the texting on that tiny little keyboard and for what??? Just so that I could keep in touch and didn't have to talk with anyone. My cell phone wasn't being used as a phone anymore. I hardly ever received any calls, but I did receive a VERY LARGE BILL each month for it. A monthly charge, that when added up could have purchased a new living room suite, new carpet, new flooring of my choice, a weekend vacation for 4.
I have all the computers I need, so it's time for me to get back to using a cell phone as just that....a phone. I'm going to try it for a month, so be patient with me if I don't answer your emails in a timely fashion. I'll be checking my computer in the morning, then again in the evening. So that's when I'll see who has been on facebook and make comments on your status & pictures, and answer your emails.

Big brother has 4 computers, 2 for mam and two for dad. I thought about going to a smart phone like Dick Tracy but everything I need to do can be done on my computer.
Dancer girl is doing some texting from her phone but she may have to clean her mom's house very clean to use it.
The kids cleaned our home before they left for home. Very nice.
You are so right. Everything that can be done, can be done so much better from your computer.
I have a cell phone and it is used for when we are away from the house and then only emergencies. We buy minutes every 3 months. I will never get rid of my landline either. The money people spend on cell phones, and all those other fancy phones, is outrageous. You are right...that money can be used for something tangible that you can see every day instead of putting it in other people's pockets (like phone companies). They know they have a good thing going and that is why new technology keeps coming out at an alarming rate.
