YES, it's Friday the 13th

We had a visitor for lunch, but she brought her own lunch with her.  It was Sharon and she stopped in to show me her poor little thumb.  As most of you know, today is Friday the 13th, superstitious for some and not for others.  Sharon isn't a superstitious person but today just wasn't her day and perhaps she should have just stayed in bed, but she had appointments to keep at work.

Her morning started out just like any other morning except that her car doors were frozen shut from the rain, snow and cold weather that we had overnight, so she had to un-thaw her car door first before she could get into it, which required some work on her part.  When she thought it had thawed out she gently pulled the handle of the driver's door, and the handle broke off.  No getting in the car through that door, so she climbed in through the passengers side of the car and went on to work.  As she arrived in the parking lot she gathered up all her belongings and stepped out of the car, and she really doesn't know how it happened, but her thumb got caught in the car door as it slammed shut.  OUCH!  Her thumb was caught, and you guessed it.......there was no handle to open the door, because it had broken off earlier.  So there she was stuck in place, tears rolling down her cheeks as the cold, freezing winds were blowing through her clothes, waiting for someone, anyone to appear in the parking lot to turn her loose.

My poor baby, it just makes me wanna cry thinking that her mama wasn't there to help her out when she needed me, but THANKING whoever came to her rescue this morning.

That is so sad; I feel bad for her.
I hope she feels better later today.

She has to work until 6:00 p.m.. And in her line of work having an injured right thumb isn't good.. At least the weekend is coming up so maybe she can rest it and the swelling and soreness will decrease.

That is an awful thing to have happen. Does she still think Friday the 13th is an OK day?

That's awful. Poor Sharon. I have slammed the door on my thumb and it hurt like all get out and required stitches. I hope she didn't have to wait long for help!
