I wasn't the 'early bird' after all...

I was so proud of myself because I woke up really early this morning and then, poof... my hour vanished into thin air. Do you ever wonder where those lost hours go? Did some guy who was late for work get my hour? Is it still correct to say that there are 24 hours in a day when today will only have 23 hours? It's mind boggling.
