My TV gave me a scare today. I was fooling around on my cell phone, leaving comments on Facebook that I know will eventually get me into trouble, when I suddenly looked up and saw the TV screen.
I thought to myself what happened? Am I going to have to buy a new TV too along with a much needed riding lawnmower? Surely not!
I guess I left the TV alone for probably 30 minutes to see if it would change. It didn't and finally Rick walked back inside and turned it off.
By this time I was already in the car ready to go to Lowe's to buy two treated 2x10's ten feet long. I then asked Rick if he saw the TV screen with all the pretty colored squares (I know they're rectangles, but I was talking to Rick). He said he did and asked me if we needed a new TV. I said NO and explained to him that the strong wind gusts probably just knocked out channel 18, and I'd check it out after we got back home.
We bought the ten foot long pieces of treated lumber and lucky for us Rick thought to bring the circular saw with us, because Lowe's won't cut treated lumber, and have you ever tried to haul ten foot long 2x10's in a Prius?
We were told that there was an electrical plug somewhere outside Lowe's directly behind the new mowers. Well that lumber salesman was wrong. Yes there was one outdoor plug, but it was dead and it wasn't behind the mowers. Rick finally found a live female plug just inside the doors and you should have seen him rolling that cart with ten foot long boards into Lowe's and blocking everyone from entering. We were like the 3 Stooges. A customer stopped to help Rick while another customer or two waited to get in. Rick sawed each board in half, we apologized to those who patiently waited to enter the store. Rick knew he had to saw quickly before the store manager came to inquire about what was going on. Rick then loaded the 4 boards into the Prius and off we were to Fazolis for supper.
As soon as I walked into the house I turned on the TV and the pretty colored rectangles were all gone. The TV is fine, and Rick is outside building a ramp so that he can get the Badboy out to mow. Not today, but real soon.
