Oh Christmas Tree, Poor Christmas Tree

I was watching a Christmas movie and dozing off and on when suddenly I heard that so familiar sound of the Christmas tree,  crashing to the floor.  Thank goodness,  that was the last ornament left on the tree.  There are no more, but the angel on top, and hopefully the cats won't go after that would they????  I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

The tree has been sitting in that very spot for two years, yes two whole years, not bothered by anything except dust bunnies.  Then I put a dozen tiny little colorful ornaments on it, and the fun began.  

Some of the cats are skillful enough to remove just the ornaments, but one or two are not!  I've picked up that tree off the floor a dozen times, re-hung the ornaments until I got smart and started leaving them off. 

It's a funny thing tho.  If the tree is lit up with its blinking red, blue, green & purple lights,  the cats won't bother it.  Go figure huh?

Well, it's time to listen to an assortment of my favorite Christmas songs and watch my TV's screen saver,  which is a slideshow of Jimmy.  Love falling asleep to his handsome face.  I still can't believe that he's gone...... 

It's an offer I couldn't refuse

Suzanne came over today and made me an offer I couldn't refuse.
She said, "Mom...so that you don't have to drag out all of your Christmas decorations & your tree, how about you just put up this little tree of mine? Matt & Tori made me put up my big tree this year. This smaller tree is fiberoptic and glows several different colors and you can put that little train & train track I got you circled around the bottom."

Of course it was an offer I was crazy not to refuse and in ten minutes she had it out of the box and plugged in. This is a start. Now I feel like hanging garlands above it and around my windows, getting out that wreath that little Matt made for me when he was just a little boy and hanging it on the front door. I may even hang up our stockings...you just never know, I might have gotten off Santa's naughty list by now. (wink, wink)

Oh Christmas tree, Oh Christmas tree

Well....I finally put my Christmas Tree up. All 12 inches of it! Now all I have to do is decorate it, but wait....I forgot, it's a little fiberoptic tree and all you have to do is insert 2AA batteries and turn the switch on. I don't know why I always dread putting up the tree. I guess it's because I hate taking it down and having to put it away.
One good thing about putting down that sheet of cotton snow is that we don't have to dust under it...yipee!

This year I have 3 little Christmas Trees in my little Christmas Town and they're all different sizes...this one, the one in the picture is the tallest one, and if I don't say so myself, they're really pretty when they're all turned on. I'm not finished decorating yet...I'm just getting started.
