Stormy Weather

Storms moved through here around 2 a.m. and just stopped passing by about an hour ago, which would have been around 8 a.m.  The loud clashing of thunder must have really scared Jybow, Jimmy's cat, because she came running and jumped across my chest as she was fleeing from her room to be safely nestled under the covers by Jimmy's side.  All of our cats see Jimmy as someone who will keep them safe and not let any harm come to them.  They're smart cats.

Today I will spend with one or both of my daughters, it all just depends on certain circumstances.

Forgetfulness

Well I think Jimmy & I have hit the peak of forgetfulness.  Yesterday is a good example of it, but we are not alone as you will see.

On Thursday Jimmy was called by one of his doctor's nurses and given instructions and appointments which I wrote down word for word and repeated it back to the nurse just so that there would be no mistakes and misunderstandings.  First Jimmy was to report to Dr. Joshi's office at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning for breathing tests, which he did.  Next he was to report to Berea Hospital for blood tests on Monday which he did but some how there were no orders faxed to the hospital as the nurse said they would do.  The lady at the hospital called Dr. Kelleher and Dr. Joshi's office for verification and an order but was told that Jimmy did not need any blood tests by both offices.  Jimmy was also on his way that morning to another appointment, with his family doctor, Dr. Kelleher, but because he was early he had decided to stop for the blood tests first.

When Jimmy came home and told me that he was told that he didn't need any blood tests I called Dr. Joshi's office myself and eventually after several calls I spoke to the nurse who told me that YES, he was supposed to have blood tests done but because of the mix-up he could do them on Tuesday at least an hour before his CT Scan.   I also noticed that there was another appointment written down on the top of a paper for Dec. 21st, but it was for breathing tests and he had just done some on Saturday morning so I called them back and asked them about that appointment and it seemed that he was double-booked by mistake, and she thanked me for bringing this to her attention.

Later in the day I asked Jimmy how his appointment with Dr. Kelleher had gone, and to my surprise Jimmy said, "What appointment?"
I said, "The appointment with Dr. Kelleher that you had this morning?"
Jimmy then looked at me funny and said that he forgot all about his appointment after the mix-up with the blood tests and just came on home.

We all forget things and now that we are older we even forget to look at the list we carry with us so we won't forget.

Sunshine and Prayers are welcomed

Today it's shaping up to be another nice warm day closer to springtime. As I look out my window I see the sun shining brightly one minute, only to look back up to see that it is hidden behind a cloud. The shades of the sunlight are forever changing hues, and it's a remarkable sight to see and only serves to remind me of my ever changing moods. It makes me happy knowing that I have a whole array of moods and know how to express them and talk about them. It would be such a dull, lifeless world to be bland and without emotion.

Today I have two people and one kitten on my mind. The kitten is being neutered today which upsets me very much. I feel as if I'm playing the role of God in his life and changing a perfect little kitten into a so called 'better more manageable pet.' I'm NOT God, nor do I feel I have the right to change what is not perfectly made already. I just hope that Petey, and God, forgive me and understand why we thought this was necessary.

Another person that weighs heavily on my mind today is my youngest daughter. Everyday that I talk to her she sounds worse. She's sick, and sick of being sick and is scheduled for surgery on Thursday and her problem will be resolved at that time.

Those of us who are well should all give thanks that we are so healthy and without any major problems, because not all people share in the joy of a beautiful, pain-free day without any health or emotional problems, or turmoil in their daily lives. I find myself to be one of the lucky ones and even though I'm heavy and over-weight, I have no major health problems. I'm not saying that I don't have a pain or two once in a while, but that's only from the normal wearing & tearing of my body with age. I also feel sympathy and pain when someone else's life is in turmoil and turned upside down.

Today the sunshine has slowly left, but with great anticipation I know that it will return and shine on all of us again.
