Camellia in June

Even though sometimes I don’t see
eye-to-eye with my daughter…I wish she would find a moment in her busy day to start up her blog again.

I looked forward to getting up every morning and running to my computer to check out my children’s blog sites, to see what they had written…drinking my first cup of coffee for the day, and reading about their adventures and their thoughts…And I do miss not being able to find Camellia in June.

I know she won’t be reading what I have to say, but I felt like saying it anyway. This may fall on deaf ears…but I needed to express how I felt about it.

Camellia could have left her blog intact and come back to it when she was ready. She would have received comments, encouraging her to write, which would have been forwarded to her email. Now she has no way of knowing what lives she was able to reach…which was her intention in the first place…to reach lives through her ministry.

My only contact with Camellia has been through her blogging and I miss not being able to have that contact. I miss her for purely selfish reasons.

NOTE* I have attempted twice to put one of my favorite pictures of her on this post, but blogger is not being very cooperative today...So I will have to be content to point you to her profile picture. Click on her highlighted name in the 2nd paragraph.

Camellia is beautiful. Maybe she'll be called back to writing. It's definitely something that won't let you go. Sometimes I take little breaks from writing, but never for very long.

Our son told me the other night that he's getting a web site together finally. He's been into computers for years but he's never put up his own web site.

I would love to be able to know my son as his friends know him. And I wish he could see me as the person I am. Somehow, though, the parent/child relationship sneaks in whenever we talk. I'm hoping as we both get older that will change more and more.

Great post. I hope Camellia reads it.

Hi Sandy,

I just wrote a message with bad spelling, then deleted it!

I wanted to say - it must be hard, missing hearing from your beautiful Camellia. I know I'm going to find it difficult when my kids grow up, and don't need me anymore; don't necessarily keep in contact as much as I'd like, etc. I hope you've had some happy things happen since you wrote this post, and that you are feeling less sad.

If Camellia decides to re-start her blog, please tell us all. I promise I'll go say hi and welcome.

XO Jelly

My mum (http://heathhill.blogspot.com) probably understands pretty well. I know she's checking my blog and my sister's blog (http://shellsandbeans.blogspot.com) at least once each day to see what we're up to. Especially as I live three days away.

I'd love to have a look at Camellia's blog if she starts it up again.

I too have a daughter who has stopped blogging - she is the one who got me into it knowing a lot of times I am house bound and need to reach out to people. She has a book review blog - The Restricted Section - and she keeps that up mostly to practice her writting skills - usually I am the only one who reviews her books.
I got my sister into blogging but now she has no time for it either.
I usually tell my daughter in emails to check out my blog if she wants to know what is going on.
Hope your daughter starts her blog again - they just don't know how important it is for mothers to hear how their children's lives are going.

I love to write and blog. But it was consuming my every thought and alot of time.
My children and husband were always competeing with my blogging time, for time with them. as much as I love blogging,it was an addiction that cost me more than I was willing to give up. I will probably start another one later and try to be careful with my time. I love you mom and I value our time together and our relationship. I will always be needy of you forever, your my mom.

At least you know she's still reading you.

I feel the same way. I had just started reading her blog and found it very spiritually encouraging. She's my age and we share the same beliefs, so I really identified with her. Like you, I wish she wouldn't have deleted her blog. She could have taken a break if needed and come back when she felt like it.

It's too bad she quit since you were enjoying it so! Even if she kept it real simple it would mean so much to you. But she explained it pretty well. It does take quite a bit of time, especially when things don't want to cooperate well!!

Yes you live in Madison Co. and that is the county I mainly grew up in! I have 2 brothers living there now. It's a small world! One brother lives at Union City and the other in Richmond.

Sharon, I know that Andi probably read this post and sent you and I'm really glad that you stopped by and left your comment. I hope that you at least continue to read the family blogs, when you have time. And please leave a comment, because I love hearing from you.
Love you,

Oh my goodness Sandy, I knew none of this when I sent you the email this a.m. I am so touched by what you wrote, and then reading the comments. Her comment is a gift to you, I hope it gladdens your heart. I especially like what dr. charles suggests...it sounds like a very good idea. The new view of the american family...definitely something to think about. Hugs, Finn

Sandy, I'm glad you had a comment from your dear daughter after she read your heartfelt post. Families have their ups and downs. Your relationship sounds secure and strong :) I can understand the need for 'Camelia' to get away from Blogging for a while. It can take up way too much time and take you away from other things you need to be doing.

Just one more comment Sandy...it seems you're visiting me while I'm visiting you! Just received your comment in my mail box :) Thanks for stopping by.
