One weekend in 1993, seven of us hopped in a van on a Friday afternoon after work and took off on a weekend trip to Gattlinburg, Tennessee. We had a ball acting silly, telling jokes, eating crackers in bed if we wanted to.
The one thing I will never forget from our weekend is that Edna, began crying before we even crossed the state-line. This was her first trip away from her husband...so I let her hold my big white fluffy teddy bear. I should have taken a picture of him to show you, but I didn't think of it until just now.
They all worked in the same hospital...and I worked in a surgeon's office, in the same building. Edna was taking the picture, so she is not in it and I am the second one, from the left.

I like going to Gattlinburg and Pigeon Forge. It's been too long since I've been there in fact!
Sounds like you all had a great time!! Those are fun trips.
That sounds like fun to just get up and go with friends like that. I used to have a ball with my friends when I worked. I miss them terribly now and wish I could see them more. I do get to talk to them on the phone and emails but I would love to just visit with them.
I like Tennessee too. I like Pigeon Forge better, Gatlinburg is a little too crowded for me but each to his own. I also like Cherokee North Carolina on the other side of the Smokies.
Great post.
Mama Bear
What a great photo and jewel of a thought.
We just saw a movie that we rented at the video store.
And the last emotion given at the very end was,”I wish you love.”
What a great inoculation of love as the emotion in this photo.
Very nice picture. It is good to have memories of friends and fun times. You look very nice in the picture.
Thought I should put the scunchies on my blog so you could see them - it is hard just telling about something. Have fun.
what a sweet memory
I love Gatlinburg. My wife and I were just talking yesterday about how we wanted to get back there.
Sorry you had trouble posting a comment - I hope I don't have a virus - do blogs get a virus?
Thanks for the suggestion about planting the flowers - with the little ones it may be hard - I am going to blog about my adventures in babysitting today so you will see what I mean.
Oh I have been having trouble reaching some blogs and uploading pictures.
Get a ways with the girls is a fun time....even when hubby was alive, he never minded when i went on little trips....i am fortunate to have a group of widow ladies and we always take little trips...even old people can have fun, and giggle.
