My brother Gil from, Life at the Ranch received this Cherokee Wisdom and thought I might like it…so he sent it to me. I was so inspired by its truths that I wanted to share it with you. I think it sends a very good message.
Two Wolves
One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people. He said, "My son, the battle is between two 'wolves' inside us all.
One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority and ego.
The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith."
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, "Which wolf wins?"
The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."

Hi Sandy, have caught up with most of the blogs now, about 6 to go.
I liked the Cherokee story, very true.
Wisdom for all of us - wouldn' it be nice if most of us fed our good wolf.
Nice Grandpa statement! It is also SO TRUE! ~ jb///
Love it...I've copied it and have taped it to my wall so that I can read it every day and be inspired by it. Thank you for sharing it with us!!
yes that is true.Under pressure is when the truth comes out of who people are truely feeding well.
I have heard this story before...being from Ky, me and most everyone I know claims a little Cherokee blood...lol! Just like Pea I made a copy of it to keep in my Inspiration Notebook. Thanks for sharing :-D
They shoot wolves around here and no one feeds them. Nice thought.
Someone sent me this awhile ago, and I lost it. So I was really glad to come across it again!
Your grandaughters are just beautiful in the picture below! 20's.. wow. that's such a great age...their whole life ahead of them, huh? ;)
I really like that. I may even borrow it myself. :)
Wise words!
Thursday evening I was invited to address a group of anishinabe graduates and their family members on the occasion of graduation. I found a number of quotes I used to talk about the future (William Blake) about succeeding (Zig Ziglar) etc. They all were well received in the context of the evenings theme, but the one story that struck the deepest was the one about the two wolves inside of us all. Even the mayor of Grand Rapids(himself a minister, and guest speaker at the same event)loved the story, the lesson.
