The Genie

It's raining today and I'm relaxing around my computer...It's been a long time since I've stayed home & been able to do that.

Jimmy is cleaning the house and I'm busy reading jokes and as soon as I hear the vacuum cleaner stop, I'll get up and say,
"Oh...I didn't know it was time for us to start cleaning the house...you should have told me, so I could have helped you!"

Maybe I'll wait a while and give him time to dust & polish all the furniture first...Yes, that's what I'll do. I'll wait until I hear the dishes clanging around in the dishwater. We usually only have 2 coffee cups and 2 cereal bowls dirty anyway and that'll be a good time to jump in there and help.

Now, if you are a relative and are reading this...Don't get upset, because he loves to do housework as much as I love to play on my computer.

There is ONE thing that he definately does NOT like to do and that is sweep the floors...And I do that. We have an agreement, that if I sweep, he'll mop. But I have shown him that you can vacuum the floors by just lowering the vacuum down closer to the floor or by using the long tube thingamajiggy with the brush attachment..."Isn't that right honey?"
He's saying, "yes."

I told you that I was reading jokes and here's a good one that I'd like to share:

The Genie

A woman rubbed a bottle and out popped a genie. The amazed woman asked if she got three wishes.

"Nope, sorry," the genie said. "Three-wish genies are a storybook myth. I'm a one-wish genie. So, what'll it be?"

The woman did not hesitate. She said, "I want peace in the Middle East. See this map? I want these countries to stop fighting with each other and I want all the Arabs to love the Jews and the Americans and vice-versa. It will bring about world peace and harmony.

"The genie looked at the map and exclaimed, "Lady, please be reasonable.

These countries have been at war for thousands of years. I'm out of shape after being in a bottle for five hundred years. I'm good, but not THAT good! I don't think it can be done. Make another wish and please, be reasonable.

"The woman thought for a minute and said, "Well, I've never been able to find the right man. You know, one that's considerate and fun, likes to cook and help with the house cleaning, is great in bed and gets along with my family, doesn't watch sports all the time, and is faithful.

That is what I wish for -- a good man."

The genie sighed heavily and said, "Let me see the freaking map again."

I love a man that can do some housework...I asked Hubby the other day if he would mind getting the vacuum out and going around the dining table...of course I knew Hubby...while he had it out he did the whole apartment ;-D

Girls...maybe that's why we all have such a positive outlook on life...because we have(or had) such wonderful husbands.

Funny.

We're just the opposite. I hate to do floors - anything but that and Ray doesn't mind at all.

Of course now we have three urchins who are old enough to sweep and vacuum so we may both catch a break.

Hi Sandy ~~ This is a great joke,
thanks for sharing. And I see you are still chasing butterflies. Loved the
birthday girl's hat. I hope she had a wonderful birthday. BTW My email is at the top of my blogroll. That's where my brother Peter put it. Take care, Merle.

LOl! My hub doesn't like housework either, but he'll help around the house. We both pretty much just share chores, none of this "his job," "her job" stuff.
Jimmy sounds like a gem!

Keep the jokes a'comin..;)

HA HA HA! That was so funny and cute. And Jimmy is a treasure. I, btw, have the Man Who Cooks, also good to have around the house.

Laughing a big ol belly laugh right now. That is good Sandy! Clearly the genie doesn't know about your honey or perhaps he is the last of his kind.

That Jimmy really does have 'henhouse ways' :) Lucky you!!! My hubby has been doing the dishes while I'm off to VBS each night this week...and he's talking about his 'henhouse ways'. He told me he didn't have time to pick the beans because he was too busy doing all his other HH chores (all voluntarily mind you). Poor thing :) You've provided him with a new favourite term Sandy..I think I'll be hearing a lot of it :)
Having the dishes done when I get home is SUCH a nice surprise. I guess there are still a few good men out there. He's a retired Marine after all :)
LOVE that joke!
