It sounds crazy, but I felt like I knew the man. What a wonderful attitude he had towards life. I enjoyed watching his antics. The world will miss this sweet man.
A nice tribute Sandy, a little know fact about Steve, although he handled thousands of venemous snakes over the years he had never been bitten by one!!! mind you he had been bitten by almost everything else with teeth or fangs.
Sandy you can access merle's NEW SITE via my sidebar then bookmark or favorites it, if you can't comment normally but have the option of "other" use that and enter your site URL below it so people can get back to you. Wot a nightmare!!!
The death of Steve Irwin is tragic, especially for his family, but I must say not unexpected, with all the dangerous situations he put himself into. A co-worker was interviewed and said, 'He died doing what he loved."
Hi Sandy ~~ Thank you so much for your comment. It is nice to be back, it was only a few days but so frustrating, but it seems to be OK now. My last post (how true) was on Saturday wishing the Aussie Dads a Happy Father's Day, but that was 2 blogs back. Guess you have the new one http://merle-3rdtimelicky.blogspot.com/ Take care Sandy. Posts everywhere with tributes to the larger than life Steve Irwin. Too young to die.Hugs, Merle.

I've seen this posted on several blogs today..So sad for he left two quite small children and a wife..
We were shocked that he died, our family always loved his enthusiasm when working with the wildlife. He leaves behind such a young family too.
Have a nice Labor Day! :)
Very sad but he lived with a certain amount of danger. I hate to hear of these things. Very sad for his family.
