Brrrrr......

I can't believe how cold it has been here today. I have been cold all day long...Of course, I'm still wearing my pedal pushers but I have put on a hooded sweatshirt and I'm seriously thinking of socks...nice thick wooley socks would be good.

I think I've almost caught up on reading everyone's blogs...there might be three that I haven't got to yet...but I'll be there shortly. I missed yesterday because I wasn't feeling too well. It seems that I ate something on Monday or Tuesday that didn't quite agree with me and I've spent the last couple of days in the bathroom and laying around on the couch. I did watch some movies on the tv and tv watching is something I haven't done in some time. I stopped watching tv about the time I started blogging last year. I never felt really sick...I only had lots of lower abdominal cramping and the dreaded runs. That's as nicely as I can put it.

This morning when the sun came out I got ready to go for another ride, but when I stepped outdoors I quickly stepped right back in and decided that if it was too cold to just stand out there, then I would surely freeze going 70 mph...Brrrrr. Since I couldn't go anywhere I did the laundry, washed the dishes, swept the floors (and the cats are really happy)...I cleaned the litter boxes. Since the cats discovered that they don't have to get that grainy little cat litter stuck in their paws anymore, they prefer to go outside. The only bad thing about that is that they wake me up at dawn meowing & meowing wanting out. I don't dare get one of those cute little cat doors, like my brother has, because I know I'd wake up with little offerings of dead mice & other rhodents & critters, at my feet...And I wouldn't put it past one of my cats to bring the things into the bed while I'm sleeping either...so no cat doors here.

Well enough of this old lady rambling on. Here's a Scam Alert that I received that I think you should be aware of:

AFLAC Scam!

Seems the Better Business Bureau got a complaint the other day about a scam that AFLAC was taking advantage of women on the street and stealing their money.

The way it works is the thief uses children to distract the target. While admiring the cuteness of the kids, they are robbed of their cash and never know what hit them.

I’m bringing this to your attention so that all of you will be aware that this is happening right out there on the streets where you live.

A passerby, with a camera phone happened to capture the picture below.

Have a nice day and I hope that it's warmer where you live.

Now that's a nasty scam Sandy, will have to be sure to note it if it spreads to Australia.

Glad you're feeling better.
I must admit Vincent has used his kitty door to gift us, but it's nice to have so that he goes out to the garage to use his litter box.
(He dropped the bird and feathers around downstairs, it never made it upstairs to the bedrooms!)

Now m r ducks! Thanks for the laugh. Glad you are feeling better (you didn't eat any of that spinich did ya?) It is still warm enough to ride in Florida. This is a great place to spend the winter. The "snow birds" are starting to arrive in Oct. and they will be here until spring.

I awoke in the middle of the night to take my medicine and decide to check the blogs. I am glad I did. Thanks for the AFLAC SCAM ALERT. It made me laugh and feel comforted because I am now way ahead of the way the scam works.
Thanks for the update.
Love ya sis

Hello Sandy ~Sorry you found it too cold to ride, I hope you get some warmer days before Winter really sets in. Love the photo of the ducks. Thanks for your comments, glad you liked the Blonde Revenge joke. Take care, Love, Merle.

In all my years of eating, I have only gotten food poising twice, and I'm proud to say that neither time was from my own cooking.

In the year or so that I have known about blogs, I have spent way more time on my 'puter than I have watching TV. Blogs are like reality shows only better.

How funny. Great photo. I see you have been busy. What with all the running & what not. Glad you are a little better & no worse for the wear.
So the kitties look like they were getting ready for the cold snap. Except the one the dog had over for dinner. I suppose thats the lucky one...its not out in the cold anymore.
Yall ran across a few horses I see. Very pretty, great shots, may I add.
One more thing, I too am very glad you did not fall/drive off a cliff.
Happy weekend!

Sandy, I'm sorry you've been sick -bleah.

It certainly is warmer here, but don't be too jealous, because soon it will become hotter and more humid, and we'll all flake out moaning about the heat!

Sorry to hear about your illness. And the coldness, though some of that would be welcome here - I think we're about to reach the point of uncomfortably hot here soon. I'm not looking forward to another tropical summer.
