Cataract removed

Jimmy had his right cataract removed this morning and as you can see by the picture below that he's very happy that it's over with. Tomorrow he returns to the surgeon's office for the removal of the bandage and a post operative exam to make sure everything is okay with his eye.

In other news...I have itched myself to death for two days and I think I've had an alergic reaction to some new medication which I will discontinue tomorrow. It's a 24 slow release tablet taken once a day for a slight inflammation of the stomach called gastritis. At least, this is what I'm hoping is causing me to break out in hives.

I also haven't been posting because my blood pressure medication was doubled causing me to feel really gloomy & very tired, with nothing to say....And I can't have that. If I don't improve by tomorrow afternoon, you can bet your booties that I'm making an appointment with my internist.

I can tell when one of those little time-released particles disolves...I'm beginning to break out right now...itch, itch, itch...and it'll last until I can't stand it any longer and hives cover my body and then they will disappear and I'll have a moment of calm until another little time bomb is released. I know, I know...I should get some benedryl but it makes me sleepy and I can't be sleepy at the moment...who'll feed Jimmy, or pick up things he drops as he's not allowed to bend over.

Well enough of my whining...I just wanted to let you know why I haven't been posting much and as soon as I take care of my problems, I'll be back here on a regular basis.

Take care.

gotta remember Sandy, if you don't take of yourself first... your not going to be able to take care of anyone else.

Good wishes go out to you and your hubby.. hope everyone is well soon

Sorry you've been feeling itchy. Made me want to scratch as I read this :)
Bill's Dr. does not believe in bandaging his eye after surgery! Isn't that the weirdest thing??
Glad Jimmy did well, Bill can't wait to have his over and done with!
((hugs))

A recovering husband and medicine that causes hives... too much for one woman to cope with! Bless your heart, I hope things get better quickly!

Sorry you're having a problem with your medication. Hope you get it straightened out soon.

Tell Jimmy to take it easy and hope everything goes well at the doctor's tomorrow. Glad he made it through the surgery okay.

Let us know how you are.

I quit that time release stuff for stuffy somethings along time ago when I sat up in bed not being able to breath. I take a prevacid and a antivert once a day and that is about it.

I was wondering why you were so quiet. Glad to hear Jimmy's surgery went well. Hope it continues to do so.
Oh you poor thing! Itching can drive you crazy. No, we certainly can't have you feeling gloomy and tired. Medicines can really do a number on a body sometimes and harm more than cure. Hope you get it all worked out and feel better very soon.
I'll be praying for you both.

Glad Jimmy had his other eye done - he will be one happy camper to be able to see. Sad you are itching. I would discontinue it and call doctor right away. If they are anything like my doctors it may take some convincing to get through to them you know what you are talking about. My drug store does better with interactions with my medication then the docs do.
Hope your blood pressure gets under control - worry makes it worse.

How very miserable you must feel...I know, I'm alergic to Ibuprophin...it makes my lips swell and I get large hives all over...bless your heart, I hope you fell better soon!!
Glad it's all good for Jimmy!!

Glad everything went well with Jimmy.
Have you been doing to much thinking about cooking Thanksgiving dinner, now that use to make you have hives.
And worrying will make your blood pressure go up.
Lets go out to eat :)
Just playing with you. Hope you get all lined out, poor baby. Kiss Kiss.

Hi....LONG time no see!! I was just at doubleknot's blog and saw your name on the comment list. And it brought back a memory of you visiting me before.

Ewwwwwwwwww *itching now myself*....Hive? I can relate to that. Some medications will do that to me also.

Now, gotta go read about the ghost you have below this post.

Happy Tuesday.

Sandy, I'm glad you posted. I was about to call you on the phone. Almost did last night in fact. I was wondering if everything was okay.

Jimmy looks quite happy there with his bandage on his eye. He doesn't look like a pirate though. Might if they had made it a black bandage!! Haha!! So glad it went well. Love that beautiful quilt on the bed!!

Itchy is not a good thing. You take care of yourself!! I'll be thinking of you both.

((hugs)))

Please give my best to Jimmy. I'm sure he will do fine. Now you do understand that he will see better, right?
Well then you better quit playing sick and clean that house that he can see now.
LOL
I hope you are feeling better as well today. I don't like itchy medicine. You should or maybe could try a bath in Epsom’s salt. It works for lots of stuff and will help if you scratched off any needed skin.

Glad to hear that Jimmy's surgery is done and over with...fingers crossed that he'll heal real quick!! Oh dear, it does sound like an allergy reaction to that medication...my mom is so allergic to all sorts of medication and she breaks out in hives all the time!

Hi Sandy, sorry to hear about the itching. I do think that a allergic reaction is a very serious thing and you should call you dr. and fairly soon. I broke out in hives earlier this year. I on penicillin for that darn abscessed tooth. With the red spots all over and my tongue swelling, I called the dr. and they said it was a good thing, as your breathing can shut down from a drug reaction. So please, take care of YOU!

Glad to hear Jimmy has his eye surgery behind him, it's no picnic, but at least he's not going through it alone. Some of us have to figure out how to pick things up without bending over..LOL, and it's only for the first few days after, I think. Been awhile since mine(1998).
He looks very perky and I'm sure he's happy it's done!! Big hugs for you, Finn
