Two Wonderful Surprises

I have two wonderful surprises to share with you today.
First...to our surprise & with much delight, Jimmy & I received a package in the mail from Rachel of Sliding Through Life. Look what she & Phil sent us:
A second Christmas Card...Rachel had already sent us one, a bear, a Nativity set and a Christmas ornament. Below are close-up pictures.
This is a VERY BEAUTIFUL ceramic illuminated Nativity Set…It looks so pretty lit up too. I can’t wait until tonight to see it all lit up in the dark.
A Christmas ornament of Mr. & Mrs. Santa Claus on a motorcycle…this is so cute...and I love those dated ornaments. I'm writing Rachel's name on the back of the gifts, so I never forget that she sent them.
And this stuffed bear was especially sent to Jimmy, it has an eye patch and a scar, complete with stitches, across his face. This bear looks like it’s been in a fight or perhaps in a bad motorcycle accident. *LOL*
See...you can see the jagged scar better. The little bear is even wearing a ‘dew rag’ on his head, just like Jimmy wears. I was arranging the bear onto the wooden motorcycle on my coffee table when Jimmy said he had another place he wanted to put it
So off Jimmy went with the little bear in tow. What’s he doing????
This is the bear’s new home, but for now Jimmy is letting the little bear be part of my Christmas decorations, but come Spring…this is where he’ll ride.
Thank you very much Rachel…and what a blessing it is to have you as a friend…We love you!

And the second wonderful thing that happened today was that I received an email from my cousin Jacque, who lives in California. I had found her email addy hidden away in one of these forwarded messages that we are all accustomed to getting, and just thought I’d give it a shot and send her an email. I hadn’t seen her since 1964 and she was probably around 9 or 10 years old??? (I hope I’m not aging you too much Jacque…*S*) This was a very nice and long awaited surprise and I can’t wait to find out more about my family.

Jacque’s mother is a sister to my long lost mother. It makes me very sad thinking about my mother who mysteriously disappeared, as if she were abducted from this earth by alien beings from another planet, never to be seen or heard from again. So reconnecting, with family members, is very important to me…and perhaps they may provide me with a little bit of information and perhaps closure of some sort, where my mother is concerned.

I feel so blessed today…I have had two wonderful surprises and the day is just beginning. What more could I ask for…Thank you Rachel and Thank you Jacque.

I love all the cute things from Rachel, but connecting with your cousin has to be a real gift around the holidays. (or anytime for that matter)
((hugs))

Ah, Sandy it wasn't much! I thought the Santa and Mrs. Claus on the motorcycle just fit you two perfect. Then you had posted that you were looking for more Christmas decorations after seeing Pea's village, so I sent the Nativity thing. When I saw the bear it looked to me exactly what you see people with on the back of their motorcycles and with the dew rag (I never knew what you called them) I thought about Jimmy and thought it would be great! I hadn't even noticed the stitches!! Anyway, I'm so glad you liked them and getting a surprise makes it all worthwhile!! So glad you heard from family from the past!! Wow! I hope you are able to learn some things from her!!

The Lord works in mysterious ways, doesn't he? God bless you and Jimmy. Love that bear. (I'm a bear collector)

I love the bear and the nativity scene. The bear looks right at home on the bike.

Speaking of the Nativity. I saw the movie, "The Nativity" yesterday. I wasn't expecting much. To my surprise, it was very good. I highly recommend it if you haven't seen it already.

Merry Christmas, Sandy.
