Plumbing Emergency

Although we woke up to frigid temps and a little icing, as the day went on it got warmer and nicer as the sun finally made its appearance.  We went to Lowes to buy some insulation for our crawl space late this afternoon, and as Jimmy was putting in the insulation the main water line that connects to the house burst spraying Jimmy and the newly bought insulation.  The water break was at the same point that had recently been repaired this summer.  We are just glad that it broke while we were at home.  Jimmy said that the water meter was spinning like a top while the water was spewing all over the place before he got it shut off at the meter.
As a result we have no water at the moment and because it's late in the day Jimmy is on his way back to Lowes to buy water line and all necessary repair equipment.  It's getting dark and cold outside so I hope he doesn't plan on fixing the water line tonight.
It's always something when you own your own home....

UPDATE:  Jimmy just returned from Lowes and only needed a 2 foot section of 3/4 inch pipe and they made him buy 100 feet of it.  Lowes is not like our local plumbing store, which was closed.  They will cut you the amount you need and charge you by the foot for it.  That's okay though.  We'll take good care of our water line and save it for the next time we have a plumbing emergency.
And....Jimmy is out there fixing it right now.  He's wet and says he's not cold cause he's still hot from having to buy so much pipe.

8:01 p.m.....
Jimmy under the house
in the crawl space
with all those creepy crawly spiders,
working his magic.
