Everything is fine between us

He explained to me why he had to leave and I explained to him why he should have stayed, but in the end there was never any problems between the two of us.  We both were upset at the cards that had been dealt to us by surprise.  We are calmer now and know that we will be together soon.  In the meantime he is enjoying some freedom and I am enjoying spending time with my son.   I know that things will never be the same again between us, but maybe they will actually be better.  Maybe we'll have more respect for each other and what each of us have brought to the relationship.  I sure hope so.
