UPDATE

Today I'll just write about what's going on with Jimmy and that way I won't have to send so many emails and make so many calls to repeat the same thing, over and over.

In the last 2 days, Jimmy had a mild set back with fever (103 F), chills & vomiting.....today there appears to be blood in his urine, although he says he feels much better. The blood is not bright red, but appears old and YES, I will watch this closely.

Jimmy was seen on Tuesday by Dr. Kerby... and one bit of great news is that his platelet count has finally come back down to normal. Since November, he has lost over 30 lbs. and is looking very frail & thin and is talking in a weak sort of way....his voice is not strong and he clearly looks very sick.

The catheter tube that is inserted into his right kidney, through the urostomy opening, has been there for 4 weeks and Dr. Desai will remove it next week....hopefully this is the cause of the new infection that started back up, this week. Jimmy is excited about having this tube removed and I'm excited about the return of his urologist, so that I can ask him why it has taken so long to get rid of a kidney infection. Perhaps we're not using the right antibiotic and I would like to know if a urine culture & sensitivity test was done. Jimmy has had this infection since November and has been on some sort of antibiotics ever since.

Jimmy has an appetite, but he can't eat much...only a few bites and he's done...I mean only 2 or 3 bites. This has made the outdoor cats very happy because they now get quite a few table scraps. The indoor kitties are also happy because they get to sit on his lap much more, since he has been sick. That's about all news I have for now.

Today is shaping up to be a very nice day. The temperature is already reaching into the 50's ...quite different than the 2 inches of snow that we had yesterday. I'm sure that Jimmy is thinking of going for a ride on his motorcycle....that always makes him feel better. This weather is really weird this year...here it is January and it is so warm...like a spring day. I just hope that the fruit trees don't get mixed up, and bud out too early, like they did last year. Everyone get out and have a nice day....and create some lasting memories. Talk to you later.

So sorry Jimmy is still feeling poorly. Having kidney problems makes you feel bad all the time. Please tell him we are thinking of him.

The sun is shining brightly here also.

I didn't realize he was feeling bad. We all hope he feels better soon.
