cats are like kids

After spending $48.97 on cat toys...remember those "cat sacs?"....the cats still prefer empty cardboard boxes and paper grocery sacks to play in.

I was going to post a picture of the cats having a great time playing in the boxes and bags, but you know blogger...it has a mind of its own, and wouldn't let me post pictures this morning. Maybe they'll get things straightened out this evening with their scheduled outage.

Our great-grandson, Dylan, will have fun with those cat sacs...he loves all the cats toys, especially the large plastic rings with the ball inside. He wears one like a Hula Hoop and the smaller ring he wears on his arm. The rings are donut shaped, with a ball trapped inside that the cat bats around and around in circles. We wake up every morning to the sound of a plastic ball being batted around by our cat Daisy...it seems to be an early morning ritual for her.

I think I've learned my lesson here...quit buying cat toys and just give them empty boxes, bags and our ping pong balls and they're purrr fectly happy.

Ah, it sounds like cats are similar to children...they prefer boxes to expensive toys!
At least your great-grandson can make use of the colourful 'cat sacs'!

Thank you Sandy for your kind comments on my blog. I always love hearing from you. I hope to be as sweet, wise and 'cool' as you when I'm (hopefully) a great-grandma. (just don't ask me to ride a motorbike - I'm not ever going to be that cool!)

Go to Your brother Gils Blog and read what I wrote Him. He inspired my blog. When I was reading about the fish pond and then wanted to see the brigde. A domino effect.

Ay yes, cat toys...In addition to boxes and paper bags, our cat likes to play with a single thread or piece of yarn. If you tie a catnip mouse or a button on the end, thinking that it will be easier for her to "catch", she'll ignore it.

You're so totally right! My kids find a length of string and play with it half the day! And just like cats, my kids will eat anything off the floor...ew!

my youngest cat loves just about anything....milk jug rings and glittery craft pom-poms are her favorites.....one year i did have one of those crackly bags, for a little while. Got it at a yard sale, and I think I sold it at one...If you decide to use the bags for yourself, they will probably reclaim them and empty them for you...

Alipurr...I just might try that. Not to sell the bags, but to use them myself...that I know would work. Thanks for the suggestion.
