Wooden Bridge

We still have a lot of countryside, narrow curvy roads, with fantastic vistas and old wooden bridges. The landscape is also dotted with an occasional outhouse way, way back where modern civilization seems to have overlooked. The bridge in the picture above is over Indian Creek, a very large creek with clear running water the color of emerald green. The bridge is not a short small bridge by any means, it takes in quite a span although only one car can cross at a time. A favorite stopping point for us is about a mile before we cross this bridge. There we can relax and take in all the beauty that nature has to offer. There are no houses for several miles…just us and the beauty of the swift moving water and beautiful large boulders that line its banks.

That is a beautiful rustic old bridge. Glad to hear you've been out seeing the sights, with the wind in your hair!

How picturesque! Although I must admit, when I saw the post title and knowing where you live, I thought that it would be a covered bridge!

Hi Sandy,
Love this post and I can almost hear the water rushing down below this old bridge.
Your site looks so fresh and clean.
Love the look!

I'm curious to know where this is. It's sure pretty and there goes Jimmy leading the way!! Wish you had of taken a picture of the water too. I want to find a good place to wade this summer! It's been too long since I've been wading! Let the crawdads nibble my toes, I don't care!!!

We love going on your travels, thanks for taking us along. Taking the backroad is the only way to go. You must be very talented to drive a motorcycle and take pictures at the same time!
