Lunch with 4 generations

L-R: Papaw Jimmy, granddaughter Val, granddaughter Erica, great-granddaughter Kyra, daughter Sandie, great-grandson Dylan

Last Friday we gathered together to have a late 2:00 pm lunch with our granddaughter's Val & Erica, along with her children Kyra & Dylan and daughter Sandie. As you can see by the sunshine in the pictures and the appearance of no coats or jackets, that it was a beautiful day...and a beautiful day for an after lunch walk too.

Mark this day down: October 26, 2007. This is when this picture was taken...the day of the lunch. The reason this day is so special is that earlier that morning baby Kyra let go and stood on her own for a few seconds until she realized she wasn't holding on to anything, got a little excited and fell down to the floor. It was a momentous day and a reason for celebration, but the event happened so fast that Erica had no time to get her camera. Kyra is nine months old now and never still. She's very tiny & petite and very much a wiggle worm.

This picture was actually taken first as Jimmy & Val sat on a bench waiting for the others to arrive for lunch. We ate at Papa*Lenos because Steph works there and her dad & uncle own it. Stephanie is another one of our granddaughters and I'm sorry I didn't get a picture of her that day, but I just wasn't thinking of my blog at that time and I prefer taking pictures outdoors anyway. I'm not any good with indoor shots...they turn out fuzzy and I've tried everything. Maybe I just need a better camera.

All in all, we had a lovely day with children of all ages, and hope to do this more often.

Looks and sounds like you had a wonderful time.

I've thought of going back to my 35 mm camera for outdoors as I just cannot see the screen of a digital while outdoors and cannot know if I got a good shot of am getting one or not! Very frustrating!

You have a great day!

Beautiful photos and congratulation on the standing. I like the blue sky and you may get to mow again.

You and Jimmy sure are enjoying those kids! Glad you had such a great time.
Little Kyra is precious. I love the expression when little ones realize they're standing for the first time. It's as if they're discovering a whole new world! :)
That last photo of Jimmy and Val is a beauty too.
They all are!
