Overcast

I went outside armed with my cell phone today and took some pictures. I usually have my camera in my pocket, but then I thought why not use my picture phone for a change.

As I was walking around the yard looking at all the things that need to be done, like weeding, I couldn't help but notice the beauty of nature and how good it has been to the State of Kentucky. We are abundantly blessed with plenty of rainfall which keeps everything green and lush.

Since our return to Kentucky from our trip out West I can't say enough about our beautiful state. Not that other states aren't as pretty, but they are different and have their own unique qualities. I love the red rocks and the barren waste lands of the deserts, and that wonderful dry heat with hardly any humidity. It's a nice dry heat teaming with wildlife, cactus and a variety of plant life. The only bad thing that I found out about the lovely deserts is that there are things out there that will eat you or your little pets if given the chance.

Jimmy & I love the desert and the desert stole Jimmy's heart from the very first time that he ever saw it. He was ready to move to Arizona then, and is ready to move there now, but I am not...I don't want to leave my family. I can visit the desert whenever I feel the need to see it, just as I can visit the ocean.

Things have changed somewhat since our first visit out West. We have now reconnected with family and this years vacation was mainly to visit family who happen to live in Arizona & in Nevada. It was a wonderful visit and one that should have taken place years ago. Years have been lost without much communication and I'm not willing to let that much time go by again without them in my life. I'm feeling a bit nostalgic and a little blue today, because I'm missing all of them. Of course Jimmy is no help because he keeps whispering in my ear that we can solve that little problem of mine by just moving out there.

No matter where I make my home, I will miss someone so I might as well just enjoy being right here where I am. And here I am in this reflection in the glass. That's how I'm feeling today...nothing more than a mere reflection, an empty shell.

P.S....Jimmy has a picture phone exactly like mine and he asked me if he could take a picture of me using his own phone, and I showed him how to do it.

This is the picture he took...
Now I'm not just a reflection.

There was a song long ago that said ,"Love the one your with." and I feel that way about Kentucky I am here and I love it. I am not going to feel sorry for anything. I did that in my youth. Enjoy what you have. We are blessed with communication skills and they work great.

Do you remember the movie,"Shane" where the little boy said, "Come back Shane!" I saw that on your trip where people out west were saying come visit and people in Kentucky were saying, "Come home we miss you!" I like the way Jimmy Wallace traveled across the United States, he enjoyed every minute of his traveling.

Dennis....You'll have to tell Jimmy to "Love the one you're with," because he's the one who loves Arizona. I love Kentucky, but I love to visit Arizona.

And yes...that was nice how people were saying, "come on out & visit," and others were saying, "come home we miss you!"

My shade of blue has improved today. It's gotten lighter.
