4th of July...233rd year

These pictures represent how we spent our 4th of July. We relaxed, watched movies, bull riding, napped a little, and listened to the boy two doors down from us light firecrackers all day long. All I thought of was that I must have annoyed lots of neighbors when I was a kid, so I couldn't complain much.

Jimmy's cat Jybow is afraid of noise, so she spent the day hiding under the recliner...poor kitty. No picture of her here. Nothing bothers our fat cat Daisy except for an empty food dish. That's her laying on her back with her feet up in the air.

I don't think HopAlong aka Catzilla liked the noisy firecrackers either, because she wanted to come inside today. It's the first time that she has asked to come in since we left for our Trip West. After some petting she went straight for my purse and laid right on top of it. She's been on it now for about 3 hours. I've been in and out of my purse and it hasn't seemed to have bothered HopAlong at all.

It started raining late this afternoon and I really hated to see that happen because of all the people who are enjoying BBQ's and 4th of July cookouts today with their families and friends. I hope it stops raining so that everyone can enjoy the firework tonight.

I like sitting in the backyard watching the fireworks but with each passing year, as the trees grow taller all around us, it is getting harder to see them. I'll be out there tonight trying to get a glimpse of the beautiful light show in the sky. Hope that you are enjoying today with someone you love, your family or with your friends.

Happy 4th of July to all of you, and......
God Bless The U.S.A.

My animals aren't crazy about the fireworks either, but Pup is getting better than he used to be. I don't know if he's getting used to it after all these years or if he's getting hard of hearing!

Great cat pictures! I'm glad Hopalong came inside to get some good peaceful rest.

Happy 4th to you and Jimmy!!

Thanks Rachel. Hope your 4th of July down there by the lake wasn't too awfully noisy. You have the best spot for viewing fireworks there by Lake Cumberland. I didn't think about it or we would have come down there to celebrate the 4th with you and Phil.

Love these lazy cat pics. No one knows how to relax better than a cat :)
I also love that picture of you :)
We had a quiet 4th too, but the kids came for 3 days with the little grandsons earlier in the week and we had wonderful fun!
