Here we are on the Grand Canyon Skywalk. It's on the Hualapai Indian Nation in Arizona and is suspended 4000 feet above the Colorado River on the edge of the Grand Canyon. Notice that all of us wore slippers to match my shirt. That's so if the glass broke and we all tumbled down into the canyon, they could identify us as a family. No, that's not true but it sounded good. They made us wear those slippers over our shoes as well as empty our pockets and remove all keys, cameras, cell phones, coins, wallets, purses and walk through a metal detector, and they put our stuff in a locker. I think they wanted to be sure that we didn't drop anything and break the glass and if that's true I'm glad that I didn't fall on the glass because I would make a BIGGER BOOM than my cell phone would. I really think that they just didn't want us to take any pictures. The glass surely wouldn't shatter that easily if it can hold the weight of 71 fully loaded 747's, with the winds blowing in excess of 100 mph, and with an earthquake with the magnitude of 8.0 occurring in the next county.
There were a lot of nice people around the canyon that were nice enough to take our picture so that we could all be in the pictures together. It was a beautiful place and a beautiful day.

I really like this picture, but then I like all of them.
We really had lots of fun walking around and taking in the sights.

This is a different shot of the Skywalk. We're all giving it a 'thumbs up.'
There were lots of interesting things to see and do there. They had a working cowboy ranch and we got to eat, watch a card shark do magic tricks, pan for gold, and take a ride in a horse drawn wagon. We even got to see a dinosaur foot print left in a rock out in the desert. They had horseback riding, airplane & helicopter rides and gift shops. We were taken to different locations by large grayhound type buses...it was an all day affair and a day of fun for all four of us.
We did something different every day and I'll be posting more pictures of our vacation to California & Arizona from time to time. Take care and stay safe and remember that somebody near you loves you very much.
Now for your viewing and listening entertainment here's Will Smith in Wild Wild West.

Sandy, I'm just catching up with you!! What a fun trip you had! I love all your photos! I don't know if I could do the skywalk or not! That is mighty high and having a glass bottom...well...I don't know!! I can only imagine the views from that advantage point though! You look so glamorous with the hat on and Jimmy certainly looks the part!! I love how they do those old western looking photos!
I loved all your old pictures!!
Petey is so cute!!
Say Hi to Jimmy!!
Hugs and love,
Rachel
Rachel...I'm not a hat person, but I couldn't be an Indian Squaw anymore because my hair is short, so I had to wear that hat. It wasn't easy getting into those tiny clothes and that's why I'm wearing that shawl.
When are you coming over to visit us again? We've missed you.
