one inch

My brother Dennis has 5 inches of snow today and we have 1 inch here in Berea, Kentucky. I'm tired of being cooped up in the house so I am planning a wonderful trip to Wally World so I can walk around and socialize with all of our friends & relatives who are wandering the isles seeking friendship themselves. I think everyone is getting tired of these long cold gray wintry days. Jimmy says that I could get out and shovel snow and sweep off the walkways, but it's already done....he did it. We could build another snowman too, but I just want to see if there are any other people still left in this town. I've talked to the cats til I'm blue in the face and the only thing they have to say back is, "meow," which either means 'feed me or pet me.' If it wasn't for my laptop I think I would have gone bonkers by now.

I usually have some kind of hobby to keep my mind busy during the winter days but this year it's been different. I've spent much of my time online chatting with friends and loved ones who live far away, but it would be nicer if I could hug them and talk to them face to face. I'd just like to reach out and 'touch' them.

I can hear all of you saying, "Where's Jimmy?" Well, he's here but he loves to read and his head is nearly always in a book, magazine or the newspaper and when it's not in one of those, he's busy watching TV or washing dishes and I don't dare show my face in the kitchen until I hear the last dish being put away and at that time I make my grand entrance and say, "oh, I didn't know you were doing the dishes. Can I help you?" And he replies, "I'm done, did you come in here to dirty up some more or to clean out the frig?" Because that's what I usually do...I take out every leftover dish in the frig and empty it out and give it to him to wash up. I know that he appreciates my help, don't you?

Jimmy had a doctors appointment early this morning with his ENT doctor and he said that despite the snow, they were as busy as bird dogs there this morning. You hunters out there might know what he meant, but it sounds like the doctor was very busy this morning despite the snow covered roads. I was expecting the doctor to cancel his appointments to this out of town satellite office but he didn't. Jimmy's blood tests were good, so good that he doesn't have to return for a followup for another 6 months.

Well it's time for me to get my shoes on and hi-tail it to Walley World for our big date...WHOOPIE!
