Cardioversion (Electrical)

It was a success, but for how long we don't know.  Jimmy is feeling great and is very happy with the outcome.  If his heart will stay in normal sinus rhythm, he can eventually stop taking the anticoagulant Coumadin, otherwise known as rat poison.  Here are some pictures of our afternoon.

Jimmy is hooked up with a blood pressure cuff, an IV and electrodes.
His table is set with possible medications that he might
need during this procedure.

They don't use paddles but adhesive patches,
one in the front and one in the back.

It took 10 minutes and they were finished.
You can see by their smiles that it was a complete success.
That's Dr. O'Reilly, Jimmy's cardiologist,
 and we love to hear his Aussie acent.

Jimmy wanted a hamburger when he got home so we
stopped at McDonald's.
