He shows me with every waking hour that he doesn't even like me

I go to work with Rick.  He gets to add my hours down on his.  I do that to help him out, but he doesn't appreciate it.  I don't get any compensation for the work that I do, and that is all right with me, but then he doesn't seem to appreciate that he is getting paid double....he doesn't even thank me for helping him out.  A thank you would be nice or even just treating me like a decent human being, but he doesn't seem to appreciate me.  I wake up to insults and go to bed with insults.  What do I have to do to win his approval?  I don't think that he even likes me.
