Yesterday

Yesterday I had an appointment with my sleep clinic doctor and since the days have been so pretty, I decided that I wanted to ride my bike to my appointment, so Jimmy washed it for me. Isn't that nice?

Yesterday was a little windy but without the cool breeze it would have been an unbearably hot day. You can see from the picture how sunny it was.

And of course after washing my bike Jimmy also washed his. When I take the car to routine doctor's appointments I usually go alone, but since I chose to ride my bike Jimmy went with me. I've never gone anywhere on my bike alone, without Jimmy, and I like it that way :)

Muah...

Daisy using my leg as a leaning post.

Daisy using the post as a leaning post. She doesn't
care what she leans on just as long as she has something
to lean on.

I need to start washing my own bike again because I noticed that Jimmy takes a lot more time washing his bike. (wink, wink)

SEE! He's still washing his bike, hmmm.

And Daisy is still leaning on me...

Here's our Princess. She's relaxing away from her kittens and enjoying my company. Daisy, Princess & I sat on the swing together and every once in a while Jimmy would 'accidentally' spray us with the water hose which felt really good on such a hot day. My doctor's appointment wasn't until the afternoon, so we had plenty of time to just relax and enjoy the morning.

A funny thing happened after Jimmy & I went inside the house. I decided to check my email and Jimmy was keeping tract of the time for us. He finally said that we should leave now if we were going to get to my appointment at White House Clinic on time. I began to panic because my appointment was not at WHC but in the next town, so I shut my pc down, put on my shoes and took off. When we arrived at the hospital where my doctor's office is located, we couldn't find a parking space and finally found one a mile away. As fast as we could we made it to the doctor's door just in time for my appointment just to find a note tapped on the door....."Our office has moved to a new location." I read the new address and didn't have any idea where it was, so I called the office for directions and to tell them that I was calling from their old office and that I was on my way...they understood. As it turned out, I had passed right by their new office location and simply had to back track and head towards home. The new offices are easier to get to and have ample parking just for my doctors patients, so no more hunting for a space to park and walking from a block away which isn't so bad if you have plenty of time.

After my appointment we went riding and enjoyed the rest of the day. I think it was the hottest day we've had so far.

A Couple of Good Kids

Today Jimmy & I had a wonderful lunch date with two of our grandchildren, Zac & Megan. It's always VERY SPECIAL when our grandchildren ask us out to eat or just plain ask us to do anything with them. We didn't go anywhere fancy or do any thing spectacular but the time we spent together just visiting and laughing was a joy to our hearts and made us very happy.

We do a lot of things with Zac & with Megan, so it's not unusual for us to be together doing something with them, and that's why you see so many of their pictures on my blog.

Today we let our cameras rest so this picture is a picture taken during our recent rafting trip on a night the kids all went out to see the sights in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee on Zac's birthday.

After we said our goodbye's to the kids Jimmy & I went on to Walmart to buy some fresh fruit and a few other things that we needed. We only bought 18 items so we went through the Speedy Checkout Lane. To my surprise our items came to a whopping $95 so I did a quick scan of our receipt and to my surprise it was right. Jimmy & I looked at each other and said, "we need to eat out more."

Suzanne stopped by for her usual daily visit and by that time the day was practically over...I said practically over. I still had one more important thing to do which led to listening to music before I went to bed.

Tomorrow it's off to visit the doctor in the morning to have a couple of stitches removed and to have my annual Pap Smear. It's not anything I'm looking forward to, but at my age it's always better to error on the side of caution. Jimmy had a routine 6 month checkup on Monday and they did some blood work this time. No results yet, but he says that there's nothing wrong with him and he feels fine.

That's about it except that it rained really hard for most of the day and it's turning into a jungle out there....

as sweet as toilet water

It's a rainy day at our house today just perfect for my regularly scheduled blood tests and mammogram. Wouldn't want to spend a perfectly good day at the clinic doing that stuff.

I say a day at the clinic, because I was there this morning for my blood tests and a Tetanus/Pertussis Booster shot, and then have to return later this afternoon for my mammogram and boy am I looking forward to that. I'm looking so forward to that, that I have already put it off for over a year, so my doctor told me yesterday. I could have sworn that I just had it done last year.

While I was there at the doctor's office this morning I ran into Sharon waiting to see my mean ole doctor. She's really not mean, but she just had a bad day yesterday because two other doctor's called in sick and she was having to cover for them. A little over-worked and over-stressed I guess. Today the clinic called in reinforcements to help her out and she was in a much nicer mood, so I was told. I don't have another appointment to see the doctor for another six months, unless I get sick of course, and hopefully she'll be in a much better frame of mind by then.

Changing the subject here. Jimmy is usually awakened every morning by persistent meowing wanting to be fed. This usually happens somewhere around 5-6 a.m. like little alarm clocks. But this morning Princess Pinky with her long white fur crawled into bed with him and was all wet. Jimmy immediately thought that she must have fallen into the toilet or something, so he jumped out of bed to go dry her off. We try to keep the lids closed on the toilets because when she first came to live with us we caught her drinking out of the toilet instead of her water dish, so Jimmy just thought that one of us had forgotten to close the lid.

Can you imagine having a wet cat waking you up and especially one that has fallen into the toilet? I was laughing hysterically by this time as Jimmy was telling me the story. But the cat was more stupid than that. She didn't fall into the toilet, unless she knows how to put the lids neatly back down and leave no mess. She slept in an open window, on a cat shelf, and remained asleep as it rained in on her and when she got wet enough, she crawled into bed to snuggle up against Jimmy.

So that's been our day so far and it isn't even noon yet.
